What to expect (and how to actually enjoy the session)


Yes graduation and any photo session can be stressful but it does not have to be. I try to have a fun approach to any session and for many people this is their first opportunity for a serious life milestone. If you are thinking " how do I pose?" or "what if I look awkward" then im not doing a good job as your photographer. I'll be your biggest hype person on the day and make sure you feel and look good, but remember that feeling awkward and uncomfortable is completely normal. Below is a graduate of Cal State Fullerton, he was nervous but so glad he took the photos.

What should i wear?


Believe me, this is not a silly question. Wear a nice, clean, classic outfit, something you feel confident in. Something that you can wear your cap and gown over. We will do a combination of images, some with your cap and gown and some without. However, the most important part of your outfit should be your shoes. Wearing comfortable shoes you can walk in is a huge deal. Since we will be walking around campus to different locations, it is important to wear comfortable shoes. For this Cal State Fullerton photoshoot, we went from the iconic Cal State Fullerton Titan sculpture, to the front of the school. Then we walk around Cal State Fullerton to find hidden gems that were not too busy with students. It would not be a bad idea to bring a pair to walk in and a pair to take photos in. We will look for places you are familiar with on campus, places with good lighting, and any iconic places that will remind you of your days on campus.

What if i don't know how to pose? can i bring a friend or family member?


I will guide you during the whole session. From where to stand and what to do with your hands. Yes, it can feel awkward at times, but some of the best results come from poses that feel awkward. I'll even guide you to make small adjustments to make sure we get the best images. 

Yes, you can definitely bring a friend or family member. I actually encourage it; someone you feel comfortable with can only improve the session. Someone that can bring out a genuine smile and might even jump in for a few shots. Whether it is a family member, best friends, or partner, we can make time to include them in your session without feeling rushed.

Graduation only happens once

It is a big deal and I want to celebrate your amazing accomplishments. These milestones deserve more than just a quick phone photo. Let's create something that is unique to you and your experience.
